LAC COUNCIL MEMBERS
Jonathan (Jono) Squire - Chair of Council, BEng, BD, Dip Min
Jono has been involved in planting, growing and leading churches in Sydney’s southwest for the past 20 years and is currently the Senior Minister of Grace Anglican Churches, Camden Valley. Prior to chairing the Leppington Anglican College Council, Jono served on the college councils for Thomas Hassall Anglican College and Oran Park Anglican College.
Jono is keen to see students, families and communities come to know the good news that Jesus brings. Jono is married to Jenny and enjoys spending time with her and their adult children.
Julie Pearson - B.Bus. CA
Julie is a Chartered Accountant and works part time for a small city-based accounting firm. She has over 25 years’ experience serving as a council member for several colleges within the Anglican Schools Corporation. She has also served as a Director of the Anglican Schools Corporation (and its Finance Sub Committee) for 12 years.
Julie is a committed Christian, attending an Anglican church in the region and loves living in Leppington with her husband.
Gary Angel - FCPA
Gary is a qualified professional with extensive senior experience in Corporate financial management in large multi-national companies. During the last 18 years, he has served on the College Council at Thomas Hassall Anglican College, worked on the planning and start-ups of Oran Park Anglican College and Leppington Anglican College.
Gary was raised and lives in Hoxton Park and is a committed Christian who attends and serves at St Luke’s Anglican Church Liverpool.
Susan (Sue) Hewson - Dip. of Teaching
Sue was a foundation staff member at Thomas Hassall Anglican College and retired after teaching there for 20 years. Prior to that, she had taught in Government schools. During her time at Thomas Hassall Anglican College, she had a passion for education in the early years and was instrumental in setting up their new Prep facility as the Early Stage 1 Coordinator.
Sue still has an interest in education and is also keen for people in South-West Sydney to be reached with the gospel. She sees the opening of new churches and Christian schools as an important part of this mission. Sue has lived in South West Sydney since 1997 and is active in her local church.
Isobel Lin – BE (Chem)
Isobel is married to Peter Lin, the Bishop of the South-Western region of the Sydney Anglican Diocese. She previously served on the Thomas Hassall School Council for over a decade.
Mr. Oje Ativie - B. BCM, M.IS
Oje is an experienced project management professional with over 12 years in the industry, managing large-scale, multi-million dollar construction projects from start to finish while ensuring strict adherence to budget, timeline, and quality standards.
He has a proven track record of successful project delivery, in the education space while at Sydney Catholic Schools and Schools Infrastructure.
Ms. Anne O'Gorman - CPA; FCMA
A Finance Professional with CPA and CIMA qualifications with over 30 years of experience in financial management in large multinational listed companies. Specialising in Business Partnering with leaders to create and implement strategy and achieve objectives by providing financial insights and relevant reporting. Experienced in financial and management reporting, capital works, budgetting, forecasting and project accounting and management.
Anne has worked for The Anglican Schools Corporation since Jan 2024 in a Business Partner role.
